Rocky Hill Camp is more than a summer program. It is an invitation to childhood at its finest: days filled with discovery, friendships forged through shared adventures, and the kind of learning that happens when young people are given freedom to explore in a safe, nurturing environment.
Our campus provides an unparalleled setting for summer camp. Children wade into tide pools along our private shoreline, explore woodland trails, create in our professional art studios, and play on our expansive athletic fields.

What Makes Rocky Hill Camp Different
This summer, Rocky Hill Camp enters a new chapter. We have reimagined our program creating an experience that reflects everything our extraordinary campus makes possible. Campers explore 84 acres of waterfront property with direct access to Narragansett Bay, guided by professional artists, seasoned science instructors, and varsity coaches who bring expertise and passion to every activity. Small camper-to-counselor ratios ensure personalized attention, and dedicated counselors travel with their groups throughout the day, creating the relationships that make summer memorable. Our professional facilities, including art studios, science labs, and performance spaces, give campers room to discover and create. Weekly themes spark imagination and weave engagement across all activities, and joyful and culminating Friday celebrations bring the entire camp community together to share in what everyone has accomplished.
Full Day Camp
Age 3 through 15 | 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM | $550 per week
Our Full Day Camp forms the heart of the Rocky Hill summer experience. Each day unfolds as a carefully crafted journey through art, science, and athletics, and water play. Campers rotate through four specialty areas each day in addition to daily adventures and water play led by their dedicated counselors who provide continuity, support, and fun throughout the day.

Our Sports Camps offer athletes of all ages and abilities an opportunity to take their game to the next level – whether they are trying a new sport or preparing for collegiate play. Players will be led by top coaches at the high school, travel team, and college level. Emphasis will be on appropriate skill development, in a positive environment and utilizing our beautiful waterfront facilities.

A Day at Rocky Hill Camp: Schedule Sample
9:00 – 9:30 AM Morning Circle and Exploration of the Week’s Theme
Campers gather with their groups to connect, share, and learn about the day’s adventures. Our weekly themes come alive through stories, songs, and hands-on exploration.
9:30 – 10:15 AM Arts & Crafts
Children explore painting, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media. Projects connect to weekly themes and encourage creative expression at every skill level.
10:15 – 11:00 AM Recess
Campers play on our expansive outdoor play spaces, in the gym, and enjoy classic outdoor games. Sessions blend structured games with free choice, building confidence and teamwork.
11:00 – 11:45 AM Science Discovery
Curiosity takes center stage as campers conduct exciting scientific experiments, observe natural phenomena, make observations, and ask questions about the world around us.. Our waterfront location and state-of-the-art science labs provide endless opportunities to explore the breadth of the scientific world.
11:45 AM – 12:30 PM Lunch and Social Time
Campers enjoy lunch in shaded outdoor spaces or our dining areas, building friendships over shared meals and conversation.
12:30 – 1:15 PM Reading and Storytelling
A quiet interlude for rest and imagination. Counselors share beloved stories, campers explore our summer library, and young bodies and minds recharge for afternoon adventures.
1:15 – 2:00 PM Sports and Games
Our athletic fields and courts come alive with age-appropriate sports, cooperative games, and active play.Our daily sports and games sessions emphasize the traditional fun of athletic play, sportsmanship, participation and the simple joy of moving together.
2:00 – 3:00 PM Water Play
Weather permitting, campers cool off with supervised water activities. Sprinklers, water tables, waterfront swims, and water slides provide refreshment and fun as the day winds down.
3:00 – 3:30 PM Closing Circle
Groups gather to celebrate the day’s highlights, share accomplishments, and prepare for pickup. Campers leave with full hearts and stories to tell.

Each week, Rocky Hill Camp unfolds around a central theme that sparks imagination and integrates learning across all activities. Art projects, science experiments, stories, and athletic games all connect to create a cohesive, immersive experience. Every Friday, we celebrate the week with a special event that brings campers, counselors, and families together.
During Zoo Crew week, campers step into the world of animal identification and conservation. Through hands-on projects, imaginative play, and a visit from a local petting zoo, children explore what it means to be responsible for animals, from understanding their diets and behaviors to designing enrichment activities that keep curious minds and bodies active. Campers will create their own model zoo animals, or zoo habitats. They’ll discover how zoos help protect endangered species.
Imaginations blast off as campers explore the cosmos. They create constellation art, learn about the planets, and imagine life as astronauts. Friday brings Astronaut training including balance tests (simulating low gravity), teamwork tasks while wearing bulky gloves, building rocket structures with household materials, and more out-of-this-world fun.
A shortened week packed with patriotic fun. Campers learn about American traditions, create red, white, and blue art projects, and prepare for a spirited Patriotic Parade complete with homemade banners, decorated bikes, and marching music.
Campers become global citizens as they explore cultures from a variety of continents. They taste international snacks, create art inspired by traditions around the globe, learn songs in different languages, and discover how children play in other countries. The International Festival on Friday features cultural stations, world music, and a passport activity connecting it all.
Our 84-acre campus becomes a living laboratory. Campers sharpen their observation skills, identify plants and animals, collect specimens, and document discoveries in nature journals. Friday’s Nature Scavenger Hunt sends teams across campus searching for clues hidden in the natural world.
Geography and adventure combine as campers learn to read maps, understand directions, and navigate their environment. They create their own maps, learn about famous explorers, and develop spatial reasoning skills. The week ends with a Map and Treasure Hunt where teams follow clues across campus to find hidden treasure.
Lab coats on! This week, campers conduct experiments, make predictions, test hypotheses, and experience the thrill of discovery. They explore chemistry, physics, and biology through hands-on activities that spark curiosity and wonder. Friday’s Science Fair showcases campers’ experiments.
Campers explore what it means to be a hero in everyday life. They learn about community helpers, practice kindness and service, and discover the hero within themselves. Special visitors from local fire departments and community organizations share their stories. Friday’s Community Helper Awards celebrate acts of kindness observed throughout the week.
The summer concludes with friendly competition and celebration. Campers form teams, create cheers, and compete in athletic events, relay races, and cooperative challenges. Points are earned not just for winning but for sportsmanship, teamwork, and spirit. Thursday’s End-of-Summer Closing Ceremony honors all campers with awards, memories, and hopes for next summer.

Children move through thoughtfully prepared exploration centers, enjoy stories read aloud, share snacks with new friends, and engage in projects that let them touch, build, create, and imagine.
We know that for many First Mates, this is their very first camp experience, and we treat that trust with great care. Small moments matter, such as learning to take turns, trying something new, saying goodbye to a parent, and discovering that camp is a happy place to be.

Join us for a week-long Saltwater Fishing Camp focused on hands-on fishing in Narragansett Bay this June. All fishing will be done from shore. Campers will target a wide variety of local saltwater species while learning effective tactics and strategies for fishing the bay and local estuaries. While instruction and discussion are part of the experience, most of our time will be spent in and around the waters of the Potowomut peninsula doing what matters most—fishing. Participants must bring their own saltwater rod and reel, appropriate tackle, and have basic casting skills. Once registration closes, a detailed email will be sent with specific location information and recommended tackle.

Little Mariners enjoy a rest period built into each day, sensory exploration with sand, water, and natural materials, and a hands-on introduction to art, outdoor discovery, and splash play. Dedicated early childhood counselors give full attention to this age group in small groups of no more than 12 campers. Nature walks along our own woodland and shoreline campus trails bring the wonders of our 84-acre setting to life in ways that feel just right for our campers.

Junior Mariners dive into the full Rocky Hill Camp experience with energy and enthusiasm. Campers rotate through art, science, and athletics, taking on projects that build skills over multiple days and grow more exciting as the week unfolds. Team-building games and cooperative challenges bring out the best in every camper, while weekly themes come alive through hands-on exploration across our 84-acre waterfront campus. Caring counselors provide support while encouraging the independence that elementary-aged children are ready to embrace. Each week wraps up with a Friday celebration where campers showcase everything they’ve accomplished.

They rotate through art, science, and athletics with growing skill and confidence, tackling multi-day projects that demand creativity, collaboration, and persistence. Our waterfront campus becomes their laboratory, playground, and proving ground as weekly themes unfold through real exploration and hands-on challenges. Friendships deepen through team games and shared accomplishments. By Friday, Mariners have something to show for their week, and they’re proud to celebrate it.

This program is designed for older elementary campers who are ready for greater responsibility and eager to make the most of their summer at Rocky Hill. While they enjoy full participation in art, science, and athletics rotations, Senior Mariners take on deeper challenges as they take on leading portions of group activities, mentoring younger campers during all-camp events, and reflecting on what it means to be part of a community. Multi-day projects demand more sophisticated collaboration and problem-solving, and Friday celebrations become opportunities to model pride and sportsmanship for others. This is where campers leave their mark.

Varsity Tennis Coach Matt Marion and his assistant coaches welcome players ages 5 and older to Top Edge Tennis at Rocky Hill. Set on the school’s courts, this program offers adept instruction for beginners learning their first strokes and experienced players refining their game. Through focused skill development and match play, campers build technique, footwork, and court awareness in an encouraging, energetic environment.

GRADES 3 – 5 | HALF–DAY
Led by Coach Madeira and Rocky Hill’s varsity coaching staff,this week is designed for rising 3rd through 5th graders who are developing their skills and deepening their understanding of the game. Players focus on the fundamentals that matter most at this stage: stick work, ground balls, passing, catching, and field awareness. Through engaging drills and small-sided games, each player builds confidence and technique in an environment that balances serious skill development with genuine fun. No prior experience is required.

Our Little Kicker Camp is something we’re incredibly proud of—and we know your family will love it too. For many kids, this is their very first summer camp experience, and we’ve designed it to be fun, positive, and memorable, so it sparks a love for camps for years to come. There’s no one better than Coach Rushy with ages 3–5—his energy, patience, and expertise are truly unmatched. Using imagination, themes, and playful activities, he keeps every child engaged, learning, and laughing without them even realizing they’re working hard. Your child will fall in love with soccer—and the joy of playing—for life.

The summer concludes with friendly competition and celebration. Campers form teams, create cheers, and compete in athletic events, relay races, and cooperative challenges. Points are earned not just for winning but for sportsmanship, teamwork, and spirit. Thursday’s End-of-Summer Closing Ceremony honors all campers with awards, memories, and hopes for next summer.

Session 2 features Disney’s Finding Nemo Jr. This production culminates in three weekend performances, offering students the thrill of live theater and the confidence that comes from creating something extraordinary together.

A celebration of creativity in all its forms. Campers dive deep into visual arts, music, drama, and creative writing. They explore different artistic themes and materials, collaborate on group projects, and prepare pieces for display. Friday’s Art Gallery Opening transforms our campus into a museum where families admire the campers’ creative work.

Middle School Captains stand at an exciting crossroads. Our middle school program is designed for young adolescents ready to stretch beyond the camper experience and begin their journey toward future leadership. They take on meaningful roles with younger camper groups, developing peer-to-peer leadership skills and practicing group facilitation in real time. Advanced projects in art, science, and athletics challenge them to experiment, problem-solve, and think creatively. Service learning components connect Middle School Captains to our broader community, while increased autonomy and decision-making within structured boundaries honor their growing independence. This is a summer of exploration and responsibility, where middle schoolers discover what kind of leaders they want to become, all while having the kind of fun that only a Rocky Hill summer can offer. For those with their eyes on the Counselor-in-Training program ahead, this is where the path begins.
AGES 14-15
High school students join us as emerging leaders ready to discover what they’re truly capable of. Through our Counselor-in-Training program, these young adults gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced staff mentors, developing real-world skills in leadership, communication, and conflict resolution. Independent projects aligned with personal interests give CITs ownership of their summer, while community service hours contribute to graduation requirements and deepen their connection to the broader community. For our Upper School Captains, this is a summer of growth, independence, and responsibility, where young people contribute meaningfully to camp while building the foundation for future opportunities, including a pathway to paid summer employment in the years ahead.

Refund Policy
Refunds will be granted through April 30, 2026, subject to a 5% cancellation fee. In the event that RHCD cancels a camp, the fee will be waived. Refunds will not be provided after April 30, 2026 for any reason other than RHCD’s cancellation of a camp.
