Molly Sylvia

Head Coach

Coach Sylvia started sailing at Sail Newport at the age of seven, and continued to competitively race in the sport throughout her teenage years. As a graduate of North Kingstown High School, she attended both Fleet Racing Nationals, and the Public School Championships her senior year.

She has coached sailing and has been the Head Sailing Instructor at both Sail to Prevail, the Nationally Disabled Sailing Program, as well as the Sail Newport Youth Program. More recently, Coach Sylvia was the Program Director for Sailing at Saunderstown Yacht Club.

She continues to sail in the VX One Newport Fleet in the summer, as well as some of their mid-winter series in the south. This past September the fleet held North Americans at Sail Newport, where her team competed for a top twenty spot.

With eight years of coaching experience, and nearly seventeen years of sailing experience Coach Sylvia is thrilled to have the opportunity to give back to the sport and spark new interest in young sailors.
