Garden Classroom
An important extension of the classroom, the Jamie Gardener Garden Classroom provides hands-on learning opportunities.
- 4th graders tend their Three Sisters garden as American colonists and Native Americans did.
- Lower schoolers practice mindfulness as they design and build a Zen Garden.
- Middle schoolers grow kale and lettuce to be used by the dining service staff.

Waterfront Classroom
Our unique location on Narragansett Bay allows our students to learn on the water.
- 5th grade engineers test their skills in the Cardboard Boat Regatta.
- Ancient history students role play and team build in kayaks.
- Upper Schoolers extract microplastics for their experimental design capstone.

Land of Fires Nature Trail
Our 1.5 mile-long Land of Fires nature trail winds its way through woodlands, salt marsh, and beaches along the shore of Potowomut Neck.
- Art students experience plein air painting.
- Middle School students track the spread of invasive species.
- Upper School students monitor one of RI’s three terrapin turtle populations.
