Garden Classroom

An important extension of the classroom, the Jaime Gardener Garden Classroom provides hands-on learning opportunities.

  • 4th graders tend their Three Sisters garden as American colonists and Native Americans did.
  • Lower schoolers practice mindfulness as they design and build a Zen Garden.
  • Middle schoolers grow kale and lettuce to be used by the dining service staff.

Waterfront Classroom

Our unique location on Narragansett Bay allows our students to learn on the water.

  • 5th grade engineers test their skills in the Cardboard Boat Regatta.
  • Ancient history students role play and team build in kayaks.
  • Upper Schoolers extract microplastics for their experimental design capstone.

Land of Fires Nature Trail

Our 1.5 mile-long Land of Fires nature trail winds its way through woodlands, salt marsh, and beaches along the shore of Potowomut Neck.

  • Art students experience plein air painting.
  • Middle School students track the spread of invasive species.
  • Upper School students monitor one of RI’s three terrapin turtle populations.
