Rocky Hill Country Day School Appoints Christine Heine as New Head of School
The Rocky Hill Board of Trustees is proud to announce the appointment of Christine Heine as the next Head of School, effective July 1, 2025. Following an extensive nationwide search conducted in partnership with search firm RG175, Christine was unanimously selected by the school’s Board of Trustees from a field of highly qualified candidates. The Rocky Hill community is eager to welcome Christine, confident that her experience, leadership, and passion for education make her the ideal choice to guide the school into the future. Christine Heine brings over a decade of leadership in independent schools, most recently as Head of School at York Country Day School (YCDS) in Pennsylvania. During her 10-year tenure, she led significant growth, including a 92% enrollment increase and a $15.5 million capital campaign to build a state-of-the-art STEAM Center. She also secured $5 million for endowments, tuition assistance, and faculty development.
Widely recognized for her skill in fostering a positive and enriching school climate, Christine cultivated an environment rooted in a unified vision during her tenure at YCDS. She also successfully launched a program centered on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, emphasizing community engagement, professional development, and open dialogue.
Christine’s professional expertise and warm, inclusive leadership will build upon Rocky Hill’s values and traditions, and help the school achieve its strategic goals. Christine is already working closely with Interim Head of School, Dan Rocha, and is committed to a smooth transition in the months ahead.
As Christine Heine steps into her new role, Rocky Hill looks forward to writing the next chapter of its exceptional story, continuing its tradition of excellence under her leadership.
