We offer boys soccer teams for students in grades 5 – 12.

Our Middle School athletics work in tandem with our Upper School teams to create a linear progression through sport which allows for a higher level of skill acquisition and longer love of the game.

Joshua Schatz

Head Coach

Joshua Schatz has coached numerous sports over the last few years. He has coached soccer, basketball, and tennis at the high school level. Before becoming a full-time teacher Josh spent two years coaching the Cole Middle School boys soccer team, helping lead them to a runner-up finish the first year and a state title the second year. Josh played soccer, tennis and, football in high school.

Kurt Heise

Assistant Coach

Kurt Heise looks forward to having a great season. He played four years of soccer and lacrosse at Carleton College. He was also a member of the club ice hockey team. In high school, he played soccer, basketball, ice hockey, and lacrosse.

Jared Zimmer '89

Head JV Coach

Head B Coach Jared Zimmer ’89 returns to Rocky Hill School as an alumni from the class of 1989! While a student at RHS, Jared was a boys varsity soccer and boys varsity lacrosse captain. Experience wise, he was the first head coach of the Cranston West HS boys varsity lacrosse team (2013), where he would recive honors such as DIII “coach of the year” 2013 and the “coaches sportsmanship award” in 2016. He was also recognized as a lacrosse official by being nominated as the 2016 “Ted Gilmartin Award for Sportsmanship” recipient given by the RILOA. Jared is also an East Greenwich youth lacrosse coach and RI lacrosse youth and HS official for RILOA. He is excited to give back to the school that has given him so much!

Middle School Soccer

Tim Greenwood

Head Coach, A Team

Starting in fourth grade and continuing through college, Coach Greenwood was a member of competitive teams in several sports.  During his years at RHCD, he has enjoyed working with middle school students to help them improve their skills, to have fun and to prepare them to play at a higher level.  Coach Greenwood has had numerous successful seasons at the helm of the Middle School Soccer team, including most recently winning the Land of Fires Soccer Tournament.

Karah Chartrand

Head Coach, A Team

Coach Chartrand has over 8 years of coaching experience. She began coaching for the North Smithfield Area Youth Soccer Club and has coached both boys and girls at a variety of age levels in Super Liga Select Club Soccer. She has also spent many years with the Special Olympic Soccer Program, both traditional and unified.  Her coaching style focuses on both player development and team building, with a focus on fundamentals (ball skills) and decision-making (tactics). Good fundamentals are maximized by using as many activities as possible with each player working with a ball. Good decision-making is maximized by using as many activities as possible employing small groups.

Alex Champagne '04

Assistant Coach

Assistant Coach is Alex Champagne ’04 graduated from Rocky Hill School in 2004. He played varsity soccer, basketball and lacrosse. Alex then played lacrosse in College at Ohio Wesleyan University and Mount Ida College. He played in four NCAA lacrosse playoff games. After college, he lived in China for two years as a student and undergraduate English teacher. Alex currently has a Masters Degree in Economics. His passion is helping others see and grow to their highest potential.
