In a moving tribute today, the Rocky Hill School community honored local veterans who served in the branches of the U.S. military. Students, faculty, staff, and parents gathered in the gym to thank the veterans, who were seated in the front row during the presentation.
The annual ceremony included a performance by the School’s band led by band director Jack McNamara and a choral performance led by choral director Emily Serotta. The names of more than a dozen local veterans, including several who work or teach at Rocky Hill School, were read aloud. Students in the Lower School presented each veteran with a paper poppy flower. At the conclusion of the ceremony, all of the students lined up to personally thank each veteran.
