The college admissions process is an ever changing one. The goal of the College Counseling Office is to assist students in identifying colleges and universities that match their academic abilities and personal preferences, as well as their athletic, artistic, and leadership goals. Finding the right college or university is about “fit.” The director of college counseling helps students through a self-assessment process to identify their academic and extracurricular strengths, major possibilities, career goals, and overall personal preferences. Students are empowered and encouraged to embrace the college process and to make informed decisions concerning their college choice based on comprehensive research.
While the college search begins in earnest during junior year with both group and individual meetings, students in grades eight through ten will participate in a developmentally appropriate series of standardized tests and group presentations and workshops.
