The Rocky Hill School community spread goodwill this month with donations to several social service agencies in our area.
Lower School families donated dozens of bags filled with toiletries, games and crafts, books, and gifts for homeless families served by Crossroads RI. One week before the start of the School’s winter break, fifth and eighth grade students worked together to organize all of the donations and packed them into more than 25 donated backpacks. Several students accompanied Middle School art teacher Rachel Armentano to Crossroads RI’s family shelter in Providence last Sunday to deliver the donated goods. While there, the students also set up and facilitated art activities for the families.
Wrapped gifts were donated by the entire school community for Communities For People, a Providence-based agency serving families with residential programs, to help brighten children’s holiday spirits. The amount of gifts filled one of the school’s minibuses, and they were delivered to CFP on Monday, December 19.
