We are pleased to announce the following new positions and roles for our faculty and staff for the 2017-2018 school year.
Meg Stowe, Director of Innovation
In this newly created role, Meg will coordinate partnerships and develop curriculum that will continue to expand the School’s innovative learning environment. She will have an integral role in shaping the School’s new partnership with LearnLaunch, a nationally-recognized organization in Boston dedicated to connecting, supporting, and investing in the education technology ecosystem. Meg taught in PK-12 schools and has been a substitute teacher at Rocky Hill School for many years. She is the founder and Executive Director of Girls Leadership Collaborative and earned her M.Ed from Lesley University.
Belinda Snyman, Director of Strategic Partnerships
Previously the Interim Head of Upper School, Belinda will work closely with Dr. Tracy to cultivate and manage strategic relationships with external and internal partners and stakeholders to help advance the School. Additionally, she will continue to teach English and oversee both the Senior Seminar and Senior Project Programs.
Mike Gwaltney, Head of Upper School
Mike taught for 25 years in Los Angeles prior to moving to Oregon Episcopal School in Portland, a PK-12 school where he served as an Upper School teacher and department chair. He earned both his BA in History and his MS in Education from California State University at Fullerton.
Traci Fairchild, Director of Counseling and Wellness
Previously Rocky Hill School’s physical education and health teacher in the Middle School, Traci will now oversee the Health and Wellness department. Using the experience gained while obtaining her MSW, she will work with the administrative team to meet students’ social-emotional needs, in addition to helping implement the School’s PS-12 wellness programming.
Eléna Rich, Dean of Student Life
Previously the Modern and Classical Languages Department Chair, Eléna will now coordinate school-wide community spirit activities, work with the Upper School Student Council to organize and implement US events and trips, oversee Upper School discipline in conjunction with the Head of the Upper School, and collaborate on the advisory program with the Director of Counseling and Wellness.
Martha Cunningham, Director of Technology
Martha joins Rocky Hill School from Maret School in Washington, DC. She previously managed a network with over 1,400 users using a variety of platforms as well as a Bring Your Own Device program. Martha earned her BA in English, a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Technology Integration, and a Master of Distance Education, all from University of Maryland.
Rebecca Rabidoux, RN, School Nurse
Rebecca has over a decade of healthcare leadership experience in acute care and over 20 years of clinical acute care in hospitals. She earned her nursing degree from Rhode Island College and an MBA from University of Phoenix.
Charlotte Buecheler, Middle and Upper School French
Charlotte returns full time to Rocky Hill School after fulfilling the role of maternity sub in 2016. She holds an MS from HEC Paris, a BA in Modern Literature from University of Paris III: Sorbonne Nouvelle, and is working on completing her PhD in Comparative Literature.
Julie Cox, Strings Instructor
Julie has provided string instruction to students in public and private schools as well as privately for over 20 years. She holds a BS in Elementary Education with a minor in music.
Ashley Lee, K-2 Teacher
With extensive public and private Early Childhood Education experience in Texas and Oklahoma, Ashley brings her passion for teaching through developmentally appropriate practices and differentiated instruction. She holds a BA in English from Texas Tech University with a minor in education.
Brianna Runshe, Upper School Science
Brianna has taught in both public and private schools and has extensive scientific research experience with Diamondback terrapins and the New England cottontail. She earned a BS and MS from University of Rhode Island and an MAT from Brown University.
