Head of The Middle School
We know that the middle school years are a time of change, exploration, and discovery, marked not only by rapid physical growth, but also by accelerated social, emotional and intellectual development. As we work with our students each day as part of our Developmental Designs® approach, we recognize what a truly wonderful and meaningful time this can be. We offer families the opportunity to be part of a structured and nurturing community that cares about the intellectual and social development of each child.
Our small class sizes, dedicated faculty, emphasis on moral and ethical development, and understanding of the unique formative needs of the middle school child sets us apart as an outstanding Middle School. Our teachers serve as advisers, role models, and coaches, building relationships with their students. Through frequent communication with parents and students, teachers and advisers become an important resource for families, working together as partners in each student’s education and personal growth. Rocky Hill’s Middle School is committed to the development of the whole child: mind, body and spirit.
In today’s world, we see Middle School education as having four areas of focus: Knowledge, Problem Solving/Critical Thinking, Communication, and Respect. A student who performs successfully in these areas will possess a powerful set of learning skills and communication techniques with which to enter the Upper School.
