Arts at S.E.A.

Critter Camp Mornings

Students in this program will participate in the first half of our full-day Critter Camp. The morning portion of the camp is spent immersed in arts and crafts, outdoor play, and campus exploration. Students may then opt for a different afternoon camp or call it a day at lunchtime. This program is for children entering pre-kindergarten, kindergarten first or second grade.

 

Little Critter Mornings is for children entering pre-kindergarten or kindergarten.

Ages: 4 or 5; Tuition - $165

 

Big Critter Mornings is for children entering first or second grade.

Ages: 6 or 7; Tuition - $165

Drawing

Students will be instructed in a variety of drawing techniques including figure drawing, outdoor sketching, and free drawing. Pencils, charcoal, and pen & ink will be the tools used to spark the imagination and inspire visual experiences to take form on paper.

Arts & Crafts for Young People

This week-long crafts workshop will present young artists with an opportunity to explore many different mediums. The program will begin with students making creatures out of interesting textiles, like socks and felt. We will then move on to hollow eggs, Q-tips, and other materials, creating critters and pets for our creatures. We will finish the week using Sculpey to make accessories for our creations.

"CLAYmazing"

Claymazing explores the diverse use of polymer clay. Students will experiment with two types of polymer clay in order to find which better meets their sculpting needs. Defined projects, such as animal characters and picture frames, along with time for personal creations, will be featured during the week.

Studio Art: Design and Printmaking

Drawing and design are paired to create beautiful prints. Students will produce their own greeting cards and one-of-a-kind works of art using mono-prints, relief prints, linoleum prints and collages.

Woodworking-Adirondack Chairs

This course introduces students to simple carpentry skills through the construction of Adirondack chairs. Students will be instructed in the use of basic hand tools, measuring techniques and precise measuring. Each student will complete his or her own chair to bring home and enjoy. All materials will be supplied.

Young Artists Camp

This camp is sure to inspire your budding artist. Students will spend the week working indoors and outdoors with paint, Plein-Air, pencil on canvas, and other mediums. Artists will use the Rocky Hill campus and environment for inspiration.

Guitar Building Camp

This camp is geared for the hands-on child. Campers will begin the week building their own guitar from a preordered guitar builder's kit. Upon completion, students will be instructed on some of the more simplistic cords and tunes. All materials will be supplied.
