The kayaking
program introduces students to the pleasures of quiet water kayaking.
Using sit-on-top kayaks, the students are immersed (literally) in
the basic skills of kayaking. The week begins on campus with lessons
in proper boat handling, paddling techniques, and rollover recovery.
The class will travel to an off-campus location on the last day,
exposing the students to a variety of conditions from open water
on the Bay, to inland streams and rivers.
