SPECIAL EDITION: NATIONAL SPORTSMANSHIP DAY - March 4, 2008

Rocky Hill School was one of three high schools in the nation to be honored as a 2008 National Sportsmanship School by the Institute for International Sport.

Our students participated in an all-school assembly and panel group discussions with some of Rhode

Island's most notable athletes, coaches, sports media, and sports administrators as we focus on sportsmanship in every aspect of our lives. READ MORE

National Sportsmanship Day cont.

In addition, our students marched together to commemorate Go FOURTH, a nationally recognized respect program created by RHS Fifth Grade Teacher Mary Wright. Schools in Italy , Iran and Thailand will march as well.

Rocky Hill School senior, Hannah Knowles, proudly represents RHS today as the Rhode Island winner of the National Sportsmanship Day essay contest. Read her message as posted in today's edition of USA Today.  Her essay was also posted in the RI Interscholastic League Winter Bulletin.

Congratulations to the students who submitted winning essays and posters as part of Sportsmanship Day:

Caroline Dunn Packer, Erik DonFrancesco, David Monti and Vincenzo Moretti (click on name to read essay).  The Upper School composed the Rocky HIll School Sportsmanship Creed under the direction of Mr. Boaz. Finally, amazing posters were designed by our youngest students, with special recognition going to Cameron Nichols '19, and Ava Lamoureux '16.
