(To access and read the Book Discussion Activity and the Summer Reading List, you will need to have Acrobat Reader on your computer.  It is a free download.  Here is the link:  http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html . )

Each Middle School student is expected to read four books during the summer vacation, one required title and three other approved books. Students have already selected the one required title. Students may choose the three other books from the RHS Summer Reading List (link below) or read any title that receives parental approval.

Middle School Summer Reading List 2008

Upon returning to school in the fall, students will participate in a discussion and follow-up activity with the faculty member who selected the required title. The discussion/activity will involve setting, character development, plot and theme. Faculty discussion groups will be composed of no more than ten students per group.
