Middle School Block Island Day 2006
The Middle School traveled
to Block Island this past Monday (October 16th) to enjoy the fall
weather and support our soccer teams as they faced off against the
Block Island Middle School. The lack of wind and clear blue skies
made the ferry crossing as perfect as it could be for the 84 students
and faculty.
Word has it that there exists
on the island a rock that sits at the intersection of a four-way
stop, which the locals paint with various messages throughout the
year. Two of our 6th grade students,
who spent Sunday evening
on Block Island, woke up extra early to paint "Go Rocky Hill
School" on the rock, which led to quite a few comments from
the opposing parents. Unfortunately, it did not bring us enough
luck, as we left the island with one loss and one tie, but it was
a spectacular day none-the-less.
Pictured
below are some scenes from the day.
