Background
Lisa began her relationship
with schools as a Nursery and Kindergarten teacher back in 1983.
After receiving her BS in Nursing in 1991, Lisa worked in both
the medical and teaching fields. Her experience includes the VA
Medical Center, Visiting Nurses Society, and Kent Hospital Homecare
among others. Most recently, Lisa was the School Nurse for Valley
Community Schools and was a school nurse teacher at South Kingstown's
Curtis Corner Middle School.
Educational
Philosophy
"My goals are
to expand the school nurse position to include the implementation
of a more developed wellness program in the Lower and Middle Schools.
I also believe that a school nurse can be so much more than just
a “band-aid” person. I plan to be someone who Rocky Hill students
can feel safe coming to for TLC, or just to talk if they need
a comfort zone. My goal is to create a nurturing and healing
environment in the nurse's office."
