Background

Blue joined Rocky Hill School in 2001 and currently teaches science and wood working in the Middle School and coaches basketball and lacrosse. Blue has also taught math and coached the tennis and sailing teams during his tenure at Rocky Hill. Prior to joining our community, Blue worked at Nature's Classroom, a New England based residential environmental education program, as a field teacher. In 2000, Wheeler was an Outdoor Explorers Educator at the Darien Nature Center .

Interests, Activities and Plans

Volunteer Activities:

• Board member of the Narrow River Preservation Association

Other Interests:

• Kite surfing, surfing, fishing boating and playing guitar

• Certifications:

USCG 50 Ton Master license

USCG Level one Sailing Instructor

USCG Level one Windsurfing Instructor

On a Personal Note

Blue Wheeler lives in Narragansett with his wife Ady Wheeler and 3 year old yellow lab Bailey. Blue spends most of his time in the summer months on the water and gives personalized boating instruction for Ocean Pros. http://www.confidentcaptain.com/
