Interests, Activities and Plans

Statement on Athletics:

Participation in athletics has the potential to positively impact a student's life in innumerable ways. It has the power to increase a student's confidence, to form meaningful relationships with their peers and coaches and to provide a vehicle for learning important life lessons. These are the reasons that I have pursued a career in athletic administration. I understand the impact that I can have in helping to create opportunities for students that will stay with them over a lifetime.

I didn't mention the pressure of wins and losses as I described the impact of athletic participation. This is because I do not believe that the real mission of athletics should be based on winning. Instead, I believe my role as an Athletic Director is to facilitate the quality ingredients for a successful athletic program – knowledgeable and dedicated coaches, outstanding facilities and equipment, and the organization of challenging venues for competition. Within these duties, my overarching principle is how athletics can positively impact a student's overall education throughout their school years.

On a Personal Note

My wife, Karisa, and I live in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. We have two children Charlie and Nilsa. Charlie is eight years old and in the third grade at Rocky Hill. Nilsa is three and loves singing, dancing and being read to.

My love of athletics extends to my personal interests which include golfing, playing basketball and adult men's softball, and running. I am a volunteer coach for my son's soccer team. With a hectic work schedule, I look forward to spending quality and much needed time with my family on the weekends.
