Background
Winnie Stout has been a
member of the Rocky Hill School faculty since 1970. Prior to her
career at RHS, Winnie was a member of on the editorial staffs
of Ladies Home Journal (1956) and The Atlantic Monthly
(1956-7). She next taught creative writing at St. Mark's School
in Southboro from 1958-66. Winnie's love for the theatre brought
her to the Theatre Company of Boston (1964-68) where she was a
producer, publicity coordinator, and a part time actress. She
had the pleasure of working with many talented actors including
Robert Duvall, Jon Voight, Al Pacino, and Dustin Hoffman. Winnie
has also published poetry in Atlantic Monthly and Harper's
Bazaar.
Interests,
Activities and Plans
Winnie has bred and shown
dogs for 40 years. She is a governor of the American Fox Terrier
Club, president of the Fox Terrier Club of New England, and runs
the national rescue program for Fox Terriers. Other interests
of Winnie's are theatre, classical music, horses, and the
preservation and enjoyment of nature and wildlife
return to Rocky
