Philosophy

Our preschool curriculum is theme-based and project driven. We focus on the four key domains of early childhood education including language development, cognitive development, physical development, and social/emotional development. We learn through play and discovery, using structured lessons as well as open-ended investigation techniques. We are always integrating math and reading readiness instruction into our stories, games, and activities for the day. We additionally cover social studies and science topics as well as special instruction in physical education and music.

I enjoy teaching preschool because of the special bond I have with my students. The preschool years are a “magical” time in a child's life. Even the simplest things can fill a child with wonder and awe. There is an enthusiasm and energy about learning that is simply infectious! It's so much fun to see the children discover something new about the world or about themselves. It's also a pleasure to work with colleagues that also share the same “joi de vivre” that my students possess.

Interests and Activities

I am an amateur artist and calligrapher. I also enjoy weight training and conditioning, I am an indoor rower, and I enjoy spending time at the beach.

On a Personal Note

I reside with my husband, Scott, and my 6'7 (and growing) son, Zach, in the rolling countryside of Eastern Connecticut.  We have four cats, (Mavis, Henri, Sabrina, and Mouse), and play host to the Preschool Class Guinea Pig, Momo!
