Middle and Upper School
Rocky Hill School seeks a full-time Middle and Upper School math teacher to begin in August 2018.
This position requires the ability to teach math courses at all levels, 6-12, ideally with the possibility of computer programming. Candidates must exhibit strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and be willing to participate fully in Rocky Hill School’s community.
Rocky Hill School’s faculty also work as advisers, and candidates should demonstrate the ability to connect with students to develop healthy and supportive relationships. Candidates who can contribute to Rocky Hill’s extracurricular programs as a coach will receive special consideration.
Rocky Hill School’s learning environment consists of small, discussion-based (Harkness) classrooms, and a 1:1 tablet / laptop program.
The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate easily and naturally with others, while also being self-directed. A knowledge of project-based learning, or other progressive or innovative pedagogical approaches, is preferred.
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in math or a comparable field, with a master’s degree preferred, and two or more years of teaching experience.
