1.One of the most significant people in Maya Angelou's life is Bailey, Maya's brother. Bailey traveled along with Maya to stamps, they have been together from the start. He was with her almost every step of the way growing up in stamps. She also dedicated her book "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings," to him.
2.Another Person that I think played a significant part in Maya's life, would be Mrs. Flowers. Mrs. Flowers was important in her life because she made Maya feel good to be black. People in Stamps respected her, and she stood for something that Maya strived to attain. "When she smiled on me, I always wanted to thank her."
3.I feel that the first person Maya Made love to was also very important, if not the most important person in her life. Maya bluntly asked the young man to have sexual intercourse with her, because she wanted to find out her sexual preference. She did not enjoy the experience at all, not only that, but she didn't take into account the possibilities. He made her pregnant. Maya gave birth to a baby boy. Her family did not disown her, they accepted what had happened and worked with her to make the pregnancy a success. This experience opened Maya's eyes to life and she then knew why the caged bird sings.
