Flik Independent School Dining Comes to Rocky Hill
After carefully evaluating student, faculty and parent feedback and undertaking a significant amount of research at peer schools, Rocky Hill School has hired Flik Independent School Dining as its new food service provider. Rocky Hill School takes great pride in fostering the health, well-being and happiness of its students and is confident that this change is the right choice for the community. Flik will take over on March 27, 2012.

The School conducted a public menu tasting in October and Flik's menu, which included tomato soup, grilled cheese, Japanese noodles and apple crisp, was the overwhelming favorite among participants.

Flik is a renowned food service provider committed to using fresh ingredients and offering a varied, nutritious and tasty menu. Flik also embraces issues of sustainability and social responsibility, providing cage-free eggs, rBGH free milk, sustainable seafood, local produce, and poultry produced without the routine use of human antibiotics. Flik currently serves 125 prestigious private and independent schools including St. Andrew's School in Barrington and Milton Academy in Massachusetts. In 2010, The Whole Grains Council awarded Flik with its Whole Grains Challenge Grand Prize.
"We practice a single minded commitment to building strong bodies, enhancing strong minds, as well as providing the foundation for a longer, healthier life.  We call this Eat. Learn. Live.  This mantra offers a foundation for establishing a healthier, wiser and productive life."
Dozens of parents worked hard on the food service initiative. Their enthusiasm and dedication are indicative of the partnership that helps make Rocky Hill a special place. The time and effort so many parents invested in this process has produced an outcome that will enhance what the School does here each and every day.
