Lower School Application Process    

Application
Lower School Application (Preschool - Grade 5) should be completed by the parent and returned to the Admission Office with a non-refundable $50 fee ($100 for international applications).

Transcript and Teacher Confidential Report
It is the obligation of the parent to sign and submit the Transcript Release Form to his/her child's school office. Parents are asked to distribute the Teacher Confidential Report to his/her child's current teacher.

Lower School Classroom Visit and Screening
After the Admission Office receives and processes your child's application, they will call you to arrange a classroom visit and screening.

Preschool and Kindergarten applicants will visit the classroom with the teachers from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. for observation. The Head of the Lower School, Charles Laurent, will administer a screening from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. Parents have the option of being present for both the classroom visit and the screening.

Grade 1 applicants will visit the Kindergarten classroom for a half day from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Grade 2 - Grade 5 applicants will be asked to visit the classroom of their current grade from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Head of the Lower School, Charles Laurent, will administer a screening during the child's classroom visit.

Middle/Upper School Application Process    

Application
Middle/Upper School Applications (Grades 6 - 12) must be completed by the candidate and returned to the Admission Office with a non-refundable $50 ($100 for international applications).

Three Teacher Confidential Reports are also required: English, mathematics, and a third academic or special interest of his/her choice.

Campus Visit
It is recommended that candidates attend classes with a current Rocky HIll School student. Visit are available Monday through Friday 8:15 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT)
We require that all Grade 6 through Grade 12 applicants take the SSAT. This test will be administered at Rocky Hill on:

  • April 21, 2012

Registration information will be sent from the Admission Office upon request. SSAT requires students to register online at www.ssat.org. The SSAT code for Rocky Hill School is 6085.
