UPPER SCHOOL NEWS
Thanks to the efforts of our students and faculty and the support of our parents, the fall has been a successful one. To understand these successes, it might be useful to look more closely at some of the figures I shared in the "Rocky Hill Upper School by the Numbers" section of the first edition of The Mariner's Log, the Upper School's e-newsletter : 9749 = Average number of hits per day on the Rocky Hill School Blackboard Learning System website, 19,568 = Number of hits on October 9, 2003, the most active date for this website, 15 = Golden shovels used during the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Upper School building...

MIDDLE SCHOOL MOMENTS
The Rocky Hill School motto "Know Thyself", involves discovering who you are. More than at any other age, students in the Middle School are evolving their identities as they try to discover where they fit into the community.

The fall proved to be a busy time in the Lower School. We greeted new students and teachers,
explored many opportunities to promote our Lower School philosophy of "learning by doing", and honored many treasured Lower School traditions .

COLLEGE COUNSELING CORNER
Rocky Hill School families in all divisions of the school are encouraged to explore and become familiar with our new College Counseling Resource Center, which can be accessed via the internet at www.guidanceoffice.com/rockyhill. This site offers a wealth of information regarding all aspects of the college placement process.

SPORTS REPORT
This fall's athletic season ended in good fashion as all three varsity teams qualified for their respective end-of-season league tournaments. Having achieved winning seasons, these teams represented Rocky Hill School extremely well all fall. We can be very proud of the job done by both coaches and players as they competed with spirit and class throughout the fall season.

ANNUAL FUND & EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
With the help of many committed parents, alumni/ae, faculty and friends of the School we have raised substantial funds to support the Annual Fund, the financial aid program, and campus improvements including the new Upper School building. We've posted some interesting numbers so far this year.

PARENT TEACHER LEAGUE
Support of our children with parent involvement drives the work of our PTL. Research shows the importance of parent involvement in their children's lives. When parents are involved students have higher grades, test scores, better school attendance, increased motivation, better self-esteem and so much more. There are a number of opportunities to become involved at Rocky Hill School that demonstrates to your child you care.
